Albania certainly offers great business opportunities for entrepreneurs planning to start a business abroad and employ workforce.
Low business income tax and the costs for employees that are lower compared to the rest of Europe shape a prosperous employing environment. As opposed to the rest of the European countries, where the employment costs are high, starting a business in Albania is particularly convenient. The following paragraph will be therefore describing the costs that an employer meets for every employee in Albania and comparing them to other countries.
Paying an employee in Albania is relatively cheaper compared to the rest of Europe. As reported by Albanian INSTAT (Institute of Statistics) and European Eurostat, the average hourly cost in Albania is approximately €2.3, which is around twelve times less than the average one in the EU. Albania is the cheapest even when compared to the neighbouring countries: €1.2 less than Macedonia, where the hourly cost is €3.5 and €2.6 less than Bulgaria – the third cheapest country, where the hourly cost is €4.9. In all other Western Balkan countries as Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro the average hourly costs are higher than €5.
