The banking system in Bosnia

From 1997 Bosnia and Herzegovina has established a stabilization and consolidation process for economic and banking system. The process was launched thanks to the new monetary policy of the Central Bank and to the foreign direct investment flows from private or privatized bank purchases.

Unlike the rest of Europe, BIH has microeconomic stability with low inflation.

In Bosnia and Herzegovina, there are 27 banks, among which 19 are foreign-owned and 25 are included in the governmental program for savings insurance.
