What costs do you meet when you move to Slovenia?

Besides being an amazing tourist destination, Slovenia is increasingly becoming an excellent destination for your personal residence or business headquarters. Young individuals, families and pensioners saw Slovenia as a great opportunity for a better life, also thanks to convenient costs of living in this small country.

This article will present some relative costs of living in Slovenia.

Doing groceries in a supermarket in Slovenia can be quite convenient: a litre of milk is app. 1€, dozen of eggs app. €1–2, fruit and vegetables €0.5–1 per kilogram etc. Public transport is also convenient, as for example a bus ticket costs €1 and taxi rates are app. €1 per kilometre.

Rent prices depend on the location of the real estate, for example if it is located on coast of the country or in the capital, Ljubljana. Monthly rent for a studio apartment with kitchen in old city of Ljubljana, including various services, is from €400–450, while a larger two-bedroom apartment costs from €800–900. Only 20 or 30 kilometres outside the city centres the prices get significantly lower and monthly rents for a studio apartment with kitchen start from €200 on.
