Living in Croatia as a senior citizen

For pensioners looking for a Croatian city to live in, I would undoubtedly recommend one of the coastal cities, where life is relaxed and peaceful. Usually, the best destinations for retired people are also the most popular ones among tourists: Umag, Poreč, Novigrad, and Rovinj. Those who are not bothered by a long drive can find perfect destinations also on Kvarner gulf in Dalmatia.

Living in Croatia as an entrepreneur

Starting a business in Croatia is simple, success, however, will highly depend on you as an entrepreneur. Furthermore, one of the factors, contributing to the success of the company is the location of it. Where to situate your company, however, depends on the business activity:

• if you are offering food service or owning a restaurant I recommend you to start your business on the coast or on one of the islands. Croatia has 1,777 km of coast, 79 big and 525 small islands;
• if your company specializes in consultation services, marketing or trade it will be most successful in Zagreb. The capital city of Croatia counts 1 million citizens and together with its surroundings it represents the economic center of the country;
• if you are thinking of building up a factory, workshop or investing in the industry sector, however, the northern part of Croatia is the best option, since it offers low real-estate rents and cheap workforce.
